This policy explains what ThinkStreamTV collects when you read blog.thinkstreamtv.com, why, and what you can do about it. It describes what this site actually does — not a generic template.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and there is no login for readers.
- We do not run a newsletter, so we hold no mailing list.
- Comments are closed on every article, so no comment, IP address or avatar data is collected.
- We use Google Analytics to see which articles are read, in aggregate.
- Some outbound links are affiliate links. We count the click; we do not know who you are.
Analytics
This site loads the Google tag GT-KDBDJG5Z, which sends pageview and event data to Google Analytics 4. That service sets cookies in your browser and processes data such as the page you viewed, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We use it only in aggregate, to understand which topics are worth writing more about.
We also use Google Search Console, which reports the search queries that led to this site. Search Console data is aggregated and anonymised by Google before we ever see it.
You can block this entirely with any content blocker, or with Google’s own opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
Affiliate link tracking
When you click an affiliate link on ThinkStreamTV, you pass through a redirect on this domain before arriving at the partner. That redirect records the article the link was on, the position of the link within the article, the time, and the referring page. It is used to work out which recommendations are useful.
That record is not tied to a name, an email address or an account, because we hold none of those. Once you arrive at the partner’s site, their own privacy policy governs what they collect — including, typically, a cookie that attributes a later purchase to this site.
Server logs
Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for operational and security purposes, such as diagnosing errors and identifying abuse.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent data about you.
- We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
- We do not attempt to identify individual readers.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with equivalent law, you have the right to ask what data relates to you, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to its processing. Because we do not hold accounts, the practical route is usually through Google. Write to us at [email protected] and we will help where we can.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
